We always knew we were going to have a great day at the wedding of Fran and Luke, an adorable young couple so deeply in love and devoted to one another.

The ceremony was held at the deceptively stunning church of Our lady of Lourdes in Sheffield with the reception following on at Whitley Hall.

The day’s weather wasn’t as hoped when we arrived to capture the bride and her bridal party preparing for their big day in the sumptuous surroundings of Aston Hall Hotel. It was pouring outside as the ladies were pampered, but nothing was going to spoil this fantastic day.

Across town, Luke and his grooms party were preparing privately until we met them outside the church prior to the ceremony.

Luckily and bang on time the rain eased off as Fran arrived at the church and once inside no one gave a second thought to anything other that the couple declaring their love and making a life long commitment to one another.

After the ceremony and hugs and kisses outside, the guests and the new Mr & Mrs made the drive across Sheffield to the beautiful grounds of Whitley Hall.

The hotel dates back to the 16th century and contains some of the most beautiful gardens, perfect for the guests to enjoy and stunning for photographs. Legend even has it the Mary Queen of Scots spent a night at the Hall.

After all guests had arrived and group shots were over we made full use of the extensive gardens with the couple. We were even fortunate to be greeted by Paddy, the resident peacock at the hotel, who was very happy to watch us at work.

We are always surprised at how quickly the day goes by and this was no exception, and very soon the evening guests were joining the couple to celebrate into the evening.

After the cutting of the cake, the first dance was a very polished performance by Fran and Luke, who had clearly  been practising in the lead up to their big moment. As soon as this was over the couple were joined on the dance floor by their friends and family and it remained full for the rest of the evening.

There was just a quick moment to steal the couple away for a few night shots outside, a fabulous end to an amazing wedding day.

Many congratulations to Fran and Luke from all the team at Photography for Life.
